How to log in to Banner as an employee

Before you can use Banner, you must be approved for access.

  • Banner works in any browser, tablet, or smartphone-no Java required
  • Multifactor authentication (MFA) is required
  • You can open multiple tabs without re-authenticating
  • If your Banner session times out, you only need to enter your AccessID and password to resume; Additional sessions don't require MFA unless you have closed all Banner tabs.
  • Banner access is only available from Wayne State networks or the VPN.

Login

Once you have been approved for Banner access, you can log in through Academica.

Step 1

Go to a.wayne.edu and log in with your AccessID and password.

Step 2

Go to the resource menu on the left-hand side and navigate to: Employee Resources > Administrative Systems > Banner > Banner-Login

Wayne State University Banner users may now access Banner documentation directly from the Ellucian Hub to get the most up to date information. Follow the steps below to access Banner documentation.

Step 1

Go to ellucian.okta.com and log in with your AccessID and password.

Step 2

Click Ellucian Support Center.

Step 3

Click Documentation Libraries.

Step 4

Browse the tabs or search for specific content.

How to include header row in data extracts

If you are extracting data in Banner frequently, you may update your preferences to bring over the header row when extracting. This will automatically include column headers when you export data, making your extracts more useful and professional.   1. Go to the page GUAUPRF.
  2. Click Include Header Row in Data Extract in the Data Extract section.

Create an account at clientapps.ellucian.com using your AccessID@wayne.edu. You’ll get a confirmation email when your account is verified.
