Follow the steps below to set up PuTTY for the Grid.
Step 1
Download PuTTY. Under Alternative binary files, select the appropriate version of putty.exe.
- 64-bit version: Requires a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit edition of Windows (common on most modern PCs)
- 32-bit version: Compatible with all processors and Windows versions supported by PuTTY
Step 2
Open the PuTTY software you downloaded and run PuTTY
Step 3
Configure PuTTY:
- In the Host Name field, type
grid.wayne.edu.
- Under Connection type select SSH
Step 4
Save the configuration:
- In the Saved Sessions field enter
Grid
- Click Save
Step 5
Click Open to connect to the Grid.
Step 6
To log in:
- When prompted for login as, enter your AccessID.
- When prompted for password, enter your AccessID password. For security reasons, your password will not appear in the terminal.
- When prompted for Your Google one-time verification code, enter the code generated by your Google Authenticator app. If you do not have Google Authenticator set up, refer to our instructions to get started.
