What software is available for the Grid?

This article explains how to check for and request software on the Grid. It covers how to search available programs using the ml spider command and how to request installation of additional open-source or licensed software through a request form.

The Grid has hundreds of programs installed either locally on nodes, or over the network on shared storage. The Grid team can assist you with the installation of needed open-source or licensed software and can offer basic support to get you or your group working.

Before requesting software, you may want to check to see if it is currently available.

When logged into the Grid, you may use the following command to do so: ml spider

The software listed can be loaded with our module system. Visit HPC Grid Tutorial: How to Load Modules to learn more about modules and lmod.
To request the installation of software, you can submit a Software Installation Request form.
