Why can't I use certain programs on my computer?

This article explains why certain programs may be blocked on CCTS-managed computers due to an application allowlist designed to enhance security and prevent unauthorized software from running.

Wayne State University's C&IT Campus and Classroom Technology Services (CCTS) team has implemented an application allowlist to improve security. This allowlist allows pre-authorized programs and programs that you have purposely installed to run on your computer but prevents unknown applications from running. This prevents viruses from running on CCTS controlled computers. If you run into an issue with an application or receive an error message, please contact the C&IT Help Desk.
