How to use Google Cloud Storage buckets

Create a bucket 

Step 1

Open your Google Cloud Project in the Google Cloud Console. 

Step 2

Open the menu and click Cloud Storage, and then click Buckets

Click Create bucket. 

Step 4

Enter your desired name for the bucket and then click Continue. You will be prompted through the same process for where to store your data, class your data, control access and protect object data. 

Step 5

Once all options are selected, click Create. 

Step 6

By default, public access will be prevented. Click Confirm. You will receive confirmation that the bucket has been created. 

Step 7

To add files to the Storage bucket, click Upload file. A file finder window will open. Choose the file(s) you would like to upload (you can upload more than one at a time). Once you have your file(s) selected, click Open. You will receive a confirmation once the upload is complete.

Upload a file to an existing bucket 

Step 1

Open your Google Cloud Project in the Google Cloud Console

Step 2

Open the menu and click Cloud Storage, and then click Buckets.

Click the bucket you wish to upload to.

Step 4

Click Upload and then click Upload files.

Step 5

A file finder window will open. Choose the file(s) you would like to upload (you can upload more than one at a time). Once you have your file(s) selected, click Open. You will receive a confirmation once the upload is complete.
