Academica is Wayne State University's secure internet gateway, providing single sign-on access to a wide variety of services and tools, including email, course registration, financial aid, grades, Canvas, and more.
Logging in to Academica
Follow the steps below to access Academica.
Step 1
Go to the Academica login page at a.wayne.edu
Step 2
Enter your AccessID.
Tip: Your AccessID is two letters and four numbers (e.g. ZZ0000). If you do not know your AccessID you can find it on your OneCard, in the Wayne State Directory by searching for yourself, or in the email you received from Wayne State when you submitted your application.
Step 3
Enter your password.
Tip: If you are a new student or employee, your temporary password is your 9-digit personal ID (PID) number (e.g., 000999999). It is emailed to applicants and also printed on the student and employee OneCard.
Click Login.

How do I get an Academica login ID?
If you have a valid Wayne State University AccessID, then you already have an Academica ID. Log in to Academica with your AccessID and password.
What password do I use to log in to Academica?
Use your Wayne State University AccessID password. This is the same password you use for your email.
Who can use Academica?
Academica is available to Wayne State University students, faculty, staff, applicants, and select retirees. When you visit Academica, it will recognize you and display information pertinent to your role(s).
